Sport Intern

Mount Evelyn Christian School has a position available for a part time sports intern, 0.2 FTE (Wednesdays) starting 21 January 2026.

This role involves assisting the Sports Coordinator from 8:30am with various preparations for the interschool sports events, and then the coaching role of a MECS interschool sports team weekly on Wednesdays from 11:45am. Coaches will also be responsible for representing MECS and conducting themselves in a professional manner and adhering to duty of care and child safety requirements.

Responsibilities include:

• Organise the uniform distribution and collection week to week.
• Write up the results for the newsletter each week.
• Pack the team bags with first aid kits, bus lists (and print), RA (and print), sports equipment.
• Pump up equipment week to week and tidy sports storerooms when time permits
• Assist with the admin preparation including bus bookings, organising lists etc.
• Administration of sport and tribal carnivals (bus bookings, umpire bookings).
• Coaching and scoring during gameplay.
• Conducting a warmup and training session (if time allows).
• Overseeing the wellbeing of their team and referring students to other staff where necessary both at the time and after the event

The successful applicant will be required to become a member of the school association and agree with the educational creed of the school. We would like the successful applicant to wholeheartedly join a team implementing a distinctively biblical approach to education.
