Your role

Lead Programs That Make a Difference
As a Services and Programs Team Leader, you’ll coordinate and deliver accredited programs that support rehabilitation for inmates and offenders in community settings. You’ll guide and supervise Services & Programs Officers, ensuring programs are delivered ethically, safely, and to the highest standards. This is your chance to lead with purpose, inspire positive change, and help create safer communities.

What you’ll do

  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor the daily delivery of services and programs for inmates within correctional centres, ensuring resources are effectively allocated and services are delivered consistently.
  • Facilitate and deliver accredited and approved programs in custody and oversee program coordination in community locations to meet delivery targets.
  • Provide administrative supervision to Services and Programs Officers by offering guidance, assigning tasks, and verifying quality to ensure programs meet standards and support reduced re-offending.
  • Lead and motivate team members to perform efficiently and in compliance with policies, while actively supporting their professional growth through Performance Development Plans (PDPs).
  • Review and approve reports prepared for courts, the State Parole Authority, and other statutory bodies to ensure accuracy and adherence to prescribed standards.
  • Prepare clear written advice for internal stakeholders, offering information, recommendations, and solutions on key issues and incidents related to offender services and programs.

What we’re looking for

Key Knowledge and Experience

  • Comprehensive understanding of contemporary correctional programs and practices, including their practical application in areas such as alcohol and drug services, crisis intervention, welfare support, and programs aimed at reducing re-offending.
  • Proven experience in facilitating group-based behavioural change programs, demonstrating strong communication and engagement skills to influence positive outcomes.

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, mental health, or other human services fields; or equivalent experience working with family, social, or drug and alcohol-related issues.
  • Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (including required Units of Competency) or the ability to complete this qualification within CSNSW’s specified timeframes.
  • Current driver’s licence and a willingness to travel throughout NSW as required.
