Veritas Education are recruiting on behalf of an all-through specialist school in Stockton-on-Tees for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to engage in learning, regulate emotions and achieve positive outcomes both inside and outside the classroom.
The Role:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
- Build positive, trusting relationships with learners
- Support behaviour regulation and emotional wellbeing
- Work closely with teachers and wider pastoral teams
- Full-time, long-term opportunity from September
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, care or support backgrounds
- Resilient, patient and confident managing challenging behaviour
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Committed to making a positive difference to young people's lives
Essential Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one - support available)
- Right to work in the UK
- Relevant references covering recent employment
