School Support Officer - Classroom (2 Positions)

Kindergarten to Year 6 serving the Bowral Parish with an enrolment of approximately 220 pupils.

Location: St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish Primary School, Bowral

Two temporary part time positions commencing 27 January 2026 until 17 December 2026:

Position 1 - Working Tuesday & Wednesday (22 hours)

Position 2 - Working Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (33 hours)

This position exists to support the delivery of quality learning and teaching. Theis classroom-based position requires you to work collaboratively with teachers, providing assistance in all areas of student learning and management.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

The preferred applicants demonstrate the following criteria:

• A commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
• Ability to support children’s individual learning in the classroom.
• Understanding of and ability to work with students with diverse needs.
• Ability to interact positively with students.
• Technical competence in appropriate technologies.

DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA

• Previous experience in similar settings.
• Experience with the PB4L framework.

The following GENERAL CAPABILITIES are applicable to the role:

• Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Certificate III in Classroom Support or equivalent
• Current Senior First Aid Certificate

This role is classified as a child related work and therefore a working with children clearance is required prior to your commencement with us.
