We are seeking to establish a pool of School Officer’s for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

The School Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth financial operation of the school. This includes tasks such as undertaking account and GST coding, reconciling financial records and processing invoices. School Officers also assist with month-end procedures such as transporting receipts to the bank and maintaining data integrity. You would be responsible for collating figures for financial planning and budgeting, which will help the school make informed decisions about its resources.

Suitable applicants will ideally have relevant experience to undertake a wide range of a support services to a high standard. A good understanding of relevant systems within a busy school business context is highly desirable. You should also have sound organisational skills, possess the ability to keep to timelines in your day to day working environment and be a supportive, capable team member. The ability to use various technology platforms and a range of application software packages to support service demands of our school business would be advantageous.

Eligibility

  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.

  • A five (5) page statement addressing the following selection criteria as outlined in the attached JDF
    • Demonstrated experience in providing effective administrative support with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
    • Demonstrated experience in financial processes and procedures, including the handling of debtors, creditors, reconciliations, and /or preparing financial returns.
    • Demonstrated ability in using computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
    • Demonstrated good verbal and written communication skills and experience in the application of customer service principles and practices.
    • Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
