The Role
As a School Officer, you will be the first point of contact in our busy front office and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and professional operation of Swanbourne Ps. You will ideally work closely with the Manager Corporate Services and school leadership to provide high-quality administrative and financial support across a range of school functions. This includes greeting visitors and responding to enquiries with professionalism and warmth, helping to create a welcoming environment for students, families, and staff.
The successful applicant will ideally support the Manager Corporate Services in administering the school’s financial, physical, and human resources, while maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding sensitive information. Working closely with the administration team, school support staff, teaching staff, and the wider school community will ensure effective service delivery. In addition you would assist with student-related activities such as:
- Excursions
- Incursions
- School carnivals
- RM Billing
- Enrolment processes, including providing information and advice to families and collecting documentation for new student enrolments.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date school databases, records, and management information systems
- General word processing and administrative tasks
- Preparing and distributing Connect notices and other school communications
- Assisting with medical documentation and student health records
- Supporting financial and administrative operations in collaboration with the Manager Corporate Services.
A good working knowledge of Student Information System (SIS), Compass, and confidence using school systems and digital platforms are highly regarded. The successful applicant should ideally display accurate data entry, strong verbal and written communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and the security of sensitive material. They will ideally assist other members of the administration team in maintaining school systems and records, and model effective and high-quality customer and administrative support service delivery.

- Demonstrated experience in financial processes and procedures, including the handling of debtors, creditors, reconciliations, and /or preparing financial returns.
- Demonstrated ability in using computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
- Demonstrated good verbal and written communication skills and experience in the application of customer service principles and practices.
- Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
