We are seeking to establish a pool of School Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Westminster Education Support Centre (ESC) is a dynamic and vibrant school providing a safe, friendly student-focussed learning environment for our students. We offer various programs designed to develop our students' needs academically, socially and emotionally.

The Role

Ideally, we are seeking highly capable School Officers for a prominent front-facing role that demands excellent interpersonal and communication skills. As the first point of contact for our school, you will provide accurate advice and empathetic support to parents, students, staff, and community members.

A key requirement for this role is demonstrated experience in supporting families who have children with disabilities, with an understanding of the sensitivity, confidentiality, and care required in these interactions.

Key Responsibilities may include:

  • Undertake reception duties and maintain a welcoming and professional front office.
  • Manage student enrolment procedures and associated administrative processes.
  • Assist with financial operations, including handling debtors and creditors, performing reconciliations, and preparing financial returns.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Department of Education requirements.

Skills and Attributes

Proficiency in Compass and the Student Information System (SIS), strong attention to detail, and accurate data entry skills are highly valued. Suitable applicants will demonstrate:

  • A commitment to quality customer service and administrative excellence.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong initiative, sound judgement, and the capacity to meet deadlines.
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude and a commitment to supporting an inclusive school community.
  • Familiarity with school-based systems such as Integris, RM Finance, and SIS is desirable and it would further strengthen your ability to contribute meaningfully to our administrative operations.

  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.

    • Demonstrated experience in providing effective administrative support with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
    • Demonstrated experience in financial processes and procedures, including the handling of debtors, creditors, reconciliations, and /or preparing financial returns.
    • Demonstrated ability in using computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
    • Demonstrated good verbal and written communication skills and experience in the application of customer service principles and practices.
    • Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
