The Role
SRC is seeking someone who preferably has an excellent understanding of Vocational Education and Training (VET) in the secondary school context. Having the capacity to maintain and establish partnerships with Technical and Further Education (TAFE), Registered Training Organisations (RTO’s), business and other organisations to further opportunities for our students should be important.
In collaboration with the Principal and members of the administrative team, the successful applicant will provide educational leadership in the college and the community by developing and promoting the college vision and encouraging college staff to share ownership of them. Specifically, they should focus on vocational training, workplace learning and transition beyond secondary schooling. You would lead the college community to develop opportunities for improved service in VET, in addition to supporting our students to explore their post schooling goals.
As the VET Coordinator you would lead a dedicated team working with the Career’s Practitioner, Workplace Learning Officer and office staff. A key part of the role should be overseeing our Engagement Program. Leadership innovation and seeking possibilities to grow the vocational pathways within the City of Gosnells is an aspiration for this leadership role.
The VET Coordinator should bring with them a passion for student achievement, strong interpersonal skills, innovative thinking and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful applicant will ideally be able to provide the panel with detailed examples of working with and developing strong partnerships with students, stakeholders and staff in relation to VET, secondary pathways and post school destinations.
Finally, the successful applicant should place high emphasis on parent partnerships and desires to communicate with parents regularly throughout the year. We are seeking a highly organised person who has good communication skills, are solution focussed and want to contribute to the entire school community.
