This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2026. Founded in 1955, Mount Lawley Senior High School (SHS) is located 5 kilometres from the Perth CBD. It comprises three sub-schools; Years 7 and 8, Years 9 and 10 and Years 11 and 12. It hosts a Gifted and Talented Languages program, a Specialist Visual and Performing Arts program, a Music program and the innovative Aboriginal Excellence Program. The school offers a breadth of curriculum choices and has a rich history of student success and achievement.

The Role

Mount Lawley (SHS) is seeking a dedicated and innovative individual to join their Leadership team in the role of Program Coordinator– Upper School.

In collaboration with the Principal and members of the Executive team, the successful applicant will provide educational leadership in the school and the community by developing and promoting the school vision, and encouraging school staff, volunteers from the community and others to share ownership of the school’s vision and goals.

The successful applicant would work collaboratively with the Upper School Associate Principal, Upper School Year Coordinators and the Student Services team to maintain a positive school environment, implementing strategies in Years 9 and 10 that ensure high standards in relation to attendance, uniform, behaviour, health and wellbeing. Additional areas of responsibility require the successful applicant to coordinate exams, NAPLAN, OLNA and course selection processes. Additionally, the successful applicant should be able to make effective use of SIRS, RTP and SAIS to support student achievement and to develop individual improvement strategies where required. The successful applicant will ideally be confident and skilled in communicating with students, parents, staff and representatives from external agencies to facilitate improved outcomes for students at education risk.

Ideally the successful applicant will have experience, and therefore understanding of, the unique needs of the three stages of secondary schooling (Middle School, Upper School and Senior School) so that they can lead the transition support for students entering and exiting Upper School. It is recommended that applicants be familiar with the school’s Pedagogical Framework (attached) and how to apply it in practice to facilitate quality teaching and learning for each stage of schooling.
