Sevenoaks is a standalone senior college being only one of two in the metropolitan area which offer specialised pathways to senior school students in Years 11 and 12. Students enrol with us from over 40 schools and represent over 60 cultures. Our college is managed differently with greater flexibility for students as they map out their future in a supportive and inclusive young adult learning environment. Three enduring features of Sevenoaks are: Find Your Future, the Young Adult Ethos and the Advocacy Program. Our CARE values, Compassion, Accountability. Respect and Excellence support our Young Adult Ethos.

Our students participate in enhanced pathway preparation and planning which incorporate 21st Century skills needed for future success. We offer 17 different specialised pathways. Students participate in a range of learning environments which support the delivery of contemporary and emerging work capabilities to meet the current and future world of work.

Our vision is to support all students to Find Your Future by empowering them to make the most of every opportunity in any learning environment and to participate positively in society. The Role

Sevenoaks SC is seeking a hardworking and motivated leader to join our college’s leadership team in the role of Program Coordinator Follow the Dream.

Delivered in partnership with the Polly Farmer Foundation, the Follow the Dream program supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with their aspirations by reaching their potential academically, culturally, personally and socially.

The successful applicant will ideally possess an understanding of the program intent, requirements, and an appreciation of issues regarding Aboriginal education, students and cultural perspectives.

As a finalist in the 2024 WA Education Awards ‘Excellence in Cultural Responsiveness’, Sevenoaks SC is looking for an applicant who will continue to offer strategic leadership across the College, nurturing a positive culture in line with the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework. The responsibilities include coordinating all aspects of the Follow the Dream program and effectively integrating it into the operations of the College.

The role involves identifying students for participation in the program and monitoring and supporting their progress and providing career guidance. This involves working closely with classroom teachers, tutors, parents, families and community agencies to ensure student academic success and general wellbeing.

Additionally, the role involves organising extra-curricular activities and selecting and supporting tutors. Managing the operation of the program includes overseeing financial resources, monitoring its effectiveness and developing improvement strategies in response to relevant data.

The successful applicant should have the ability to work effectively with all key stakeholders including six ‘outreach’ schools, a local steering committee, industry partners, parents and school staff to develop opportunities that continue to enhance student outcomes.
