The Infrastructure Division within the Department of Education has responsibility for the provision of facilities (land, buildings and equipment), which include demographic forecasting and facilities planning, strategic asset management, delivery of capital works maintenance and minor works programs. The Division also provides security, emergency management and environmental services to schools. In fulfilling its asset management responsibilities, the Department utilises internal and external service delivery models and contracting arrangements. Key among these is our partnership with the Department of Housing and Works.
The Role
The Infrastructure Delivery and Maintenance directorate is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Manager - Maintenance and Program Delivery.
In this exciting and busy role, you will oversee the delivery of maintenance and minor works programs and the day-to-day management of maintenance to the Department of Education’s portfolio of over 830 schools across Western Australia. This position also oversees the Departments transportable construction and delivery program. The Department's capital and maintenance projects are delivered in partnership with the Department of Housing and Works. This role will require the successful applicant to analyse trends, identify opportunities and develop strategies to enhance the asset management ongoing/lifecycle management of department infrastructure.
The role will also be required to draft briefing notes to the Minister for Education and Director General of Education. If successful, you will be required to work collaboratively across the division's 3 directorates and lead a high-performing team. You will create a safe work environment, foster equity and diversity, enable the achievement of personal and infrastructure division goals, and facilitate the accomplishment of designated roles and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include managing staff performance in accordance with the Public Sector Performance Management Standard and Department policy as well as fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
