The Role
This is a hands-on and varied role that supports the day-to-day operations of the school. Working closely with the Principal and Manager Corporate Services, with the opportunity to progressively take on broader aspects of the role over time, the successful applicant will play a key role in maintaining the school’s financial, administrative and operational processes, ensuring they run efficiently, accurately and in line with Department requirements.
The role is primarily focused on the coordination and delivery of routine financial and administrative functions, including processing, monitoring and maintaining records across a range of systems. You would take ownership of these day-to-day workflows, providing reliable and timely support to staff and leadership, and contributing to the smooth and effective running of the school. In doing so, you would also support governance, compliance and reporting requirements, including assisting with school board processes and audit preparation.
The successful applicant would work as part of a small, collaborative team and build positive working relationships with staff, students and families. The role requires someone who is organised, dependable and able to manage competing priorities, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail. You should be comfortable working independently within established processes, while also knowing when to seek guidance or escalate matters as needed.
The successful applicant should ideally bring sound administrative and financial skills, along with the ability to quickly develop proficiency in key Department systems such as RM Finance, RM Billing, RM Asset Manager, Compass, Flexipurchase and RAMS. Experience in financial processing, record keeping and compliance within a structured environment will be highly regarded, as will familiarity with end-of-month and end-of-year processes.
Over time, there would be opportunities to broaden responsibilities and take on additional areas of the role, including greater involvement in planning, process improvement and school operations, for applicants who are interested in developing further.
This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution within a supportive school environment, with a clear focus on ensuring strong operational foundations that enable broader strategic work across the school, in a flexible part-time role that supports work-life balance.
This part-time position may also suit applicants based in the northern suburbs of Perth seeking a flexible two-day per week role, with the school located approximately 70 minutes from Joondalup via an easy, uninterrupted highway drive.
