Summary
St Peter Claver College is seeking a passionate and skilled Instrumental Music Tutor (Multi-Instrumental) to provide high-quality instrumental tuition to our students as a contractor.
- Location: St Peter Claver College, Riverview
- Start date: Commencing Term 2
- Work Hours: Private tuition and one ensemble rehearsal (negotiable)
- Salary: $87.00/hour (MTAQ rates)
- Status: Contractor - Will be employed as a contractor and paid an hourly rate

About the opportunity
The Instrumental Music Tutor position includes the provision of Woodwind instrumental lessons (primarily Flute and Clarinet) and, where required, Brass lessons, fostering students’ musical development and performance skills. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to conduct an ensemble and participate in school concerts, liturgies, and community events. This role involves providing private tuition lessons as requested by parents and requires flexibility in scheduling the teaching day.
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Tuition of woodwind and brass students
- Attendance at selected concerts and school events
- Working closely and collobrating with the music teachers and other team members
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Relevant qualifications and previous experience tutoring and/or teaching music
- Demonstrated strong instrumental knowledge and technical proficiency in Woodwind and Brass instruments.
- Ability to conduct/direct ensembles will be favourably regarded
- A collaborative spirit and ability to work as part of a team
- A commitment to supporting student growth through music

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
