Cherrybrook Technology High School (CTHS) is a large, comprehensive, coeducational high school established in 1992. CTHS has an enrolment of 2098 students, with 74% coming from non-English speaking backgrounds. The school boasts a highly motivated team of teaching, administrative, and support staff, along with students and parents, all of whom are committed to achieving strong academic outcomes within a technologically innovative and nurturing environment. Cherrybrook Technology High School values and encourages a broad range of academic, cultural, and sporting pursuits. Extensive extracurricular activities are available for students to excel in sports and cultural events, as well as opportunities to engage in leadership initiatives. An important feature of the school is its wellbeing programs and systems, which strive to support each child as they progress through high school. 

Selection Criteria

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria, 

  1. The capacity to jointly lead, manage and supervise curriculum, assessment, reporting and program development to ensure all students achieve high-quality educational outcomes. 
  2. Proven ability to design and lead professional learning relevant to the pedagogical needs of a diverse KLA, with a focus on explicit teaching and effective integration of technology to enhance student engagement and improve learning outcomes.
  3. Demonstrated capacity to work dynamically as a productive and proactive executive team member to lead, implement and support whole school priorities and initiatives.
  4. A passion for teaching Mathematics, underpinned by deep knowledge of the Mathematics curriculum, approval to teach Mathematics (7-12), and the capacity to teach Mathematics effectively at all levels.

General Selection Criteria

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
