Guidance Officer - Laidley State High School (0.6 FTE)

Laidley State High School is seeking a committed and student-centred professional to join our School Leadership Team in the role of Guidance Officer. This role is offered on a permanent part-time basis, at 0.60 FTE and 30 hours per fortnight.
Working in close partnership with an existing full-time Guidance Officer, the successful candidate will contribute to and be accountable for the delivery of a comprehensive student support program that is responsive to the evolving and diverse needs of our students.
This role will operate under the direction of the Deputy Principal (Wellbeing), who will authorise and support the development and implementation of the program and associated duties.

About the Role
At Laidley State High School, Guidance Officers play a pivotal leadership role within our School Leadership Team. They are at the forefront of fostering a culture of wellbeing across the school through the implementation of multi-tiered systems of support and evidence-based interventions.
Our Guidance Officers lead and influence the broader Wellbeing Team and manage the Wellbeing Hub—a central space where students and families access wellbeing, mental health, and educational support services.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Coordination & Delivery: Lead the coordination and delivery of a broad range of school-based and external support services for students.
Strategic Planning & Implementation: Provide professional expertise and leadership in the design and implementation of plans, programs, and procedures that promote positive educational, developmental, and lifelong outcomes.
Student Support & Early Intervention: Develop and implement targeted, preventative, and early intervention strategies that address students' personal, social, emotional, and educational needs. These programs aim to foster resilience, self-regulation, and personal skills development.
Collaborative Partnerships: Build and maintain strong partnerships with students, families, staff, school leaders, and external organisations to support student success.
This position is currently offered on a part-time (0.6 FTE) basis, working in collaboration with our full-time Guidance Officer. However, there may be future opportunities to transition into a full-time role.
