This is a permanent part-time (0.38 FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2026

Beacon Primary School (PS) is a small, vibrant school located in the north-eastern Wheatbelt, catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The Role

As a Gardener - Handyperson, you will assist with maintaining school grounds, including turf, gardens, shrubs and trees, in a safe and tidy condition to support a positive outdoor learning environment for students and staff. The successful applicant will also help maintain lawns and garden areas, care for hard landscaping such as courts and paving, mark sports areas as required, and carry out minor repairs in line with departmental guidelines.

Applicants should ideally be committed to using safe work practices and working with minimal disruption to the school community, in accordance with Safety Data Sheet guidance and WHS requirements. Experience in maintaining tools and equipment in a clean and serviceable condition would be highly valued, along with the ability to report faults, support risk assessments, and assist in developing safe work procedures. The successful applicant should also be able to build positive working relationships, provide general support and advice to the Manager Corporate Services, and assist with security systems when required.

  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
