Gardener - Handyperson
This is a 9 month fixed term, part-time (0.9FTE) position commencing Term 4, 2025 with possible extension and/or permanency
North Parmelia Primary School (PS) has established excellent partnerships within the local community. The school is situated in, and is well supported by, the City Of Kwinana. This interaction occurs through programs such as the The Leadership, Youth and Respect in Kwinana (LYRIK) Awards and participation in local land care activities. Foodbank supports the Breakfast Club, which occurs on Thursday mornings. The Smith Family supports a Learning Club in the school and many students benefit from the Learning for Life Scholarships delivered by the Smith Family. North Parmelia PS is fortunate to have several long serving volunteers that provide invaluable support in the school.

The Role
As the Gardener-Handyperson, you will ideally work to provide gardening, grounds, and facility management to ensure a safe and clean school environment. You will ideally maintain and present the school grounds and gardens in an attractive, clean, and tidy condition, and provide a suitable growing environment for both soft and hard landscaping, including turf management.
The successful applicant will perform minor repairs and maintenance as requested, as well as other Gardener - Handyperson duties in accordance with the Department’s policies and guidelines.
The successful applicant should display effective communication skills, be able to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff and external stakeholders and ideally be able to work unsupervised, with the ability to identify and recognise work that is required to be completed. Applicants that are well organised, have attention to detail, a positive outlook and a team player are highly desirable.

- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
