We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistants - Mainstream for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Pemberton District High School (DHS) is located amongst the karri forests of the South West’s Warren-Blackwood region and caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 10. The Role

As a Mainstream Education Assistant, you will assist in the delivery of planned education programs that will help in the development of young minds. Suitable applicants will ideally be organised and able to use their initiative to assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment, as well as being able to collaborate and work in a team environment. You should possess good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills to enable the implementation of individual or small group programs, along with the ability to support the general health and wellbeing of students.

Working under teacher direction in a diverse role, Education Assistants will also provide support to ensure the learning environment is inclusive and relevant with the health and safety of students being a high priority. Managing student behaviour in accordance with school policies and programs is an important aspect of this role. Experience in delivering MiniLit and/or MacqLit would be well regarded.

Eligibility

  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.

  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
