We are seeking to establish a pool of Mainstream Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

South Bunbury Primary School (PS), established in 1913, has a highly regarded history of providing quality education to generations of families. The Role

Suitable applicants for this role will ideally possess strong people skills and an ability to build positive relationships with staff, students and parents. We are seeking dedicated and compassionate applicants who have the needs of all students at the heart of what they do and are willing to work collaboratively to help create and maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment for all.

Suitable applicants will assist with the implementation of individual or small group programs, as well as support the general health and well-being of all students. Strong communication and organisation skills are required in this role to ensure consistency in the learning environment and a clear sense of unity within the team.

Suitable applicants will ideally be organised and be able to use their initiative to assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment, including supporting students with access to digital technology. At South Bunbury PS we have a strong pastoral care program focused on Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). Our school is embarking on a trauma-informed approach using the Berry Street Education Model in conjunction with our PBS approach to support the social emotional development and wellbeing of all students. These programs promote the positive behaviour expectations and emotional development needed to grow successfully both academically and socially.

Suitable applicants should understand the importance of consistency of practice and will follow teacher expectations and individual student plans to achieve desired outcomes. Suitable applicants should have a strong understanding of early childhood development and know the importance of play in learning. Trauma-informed practices as well as strategies to support the inclusion of students with special needs is highly desirable.
