The Role
The successful applicant would lead, mentor, coach, and model good practices for other Education Assistants.
The successful applicant is an important and valued leader supporting the Manager Corporate Services and our Program Coordinators in leading and mentoring the Education Assistant workforce. As Lead EA, you would work collaboratively and be able to build and maintain effective team-based relationships. The desired applicant will ideally be highly professional, organised and display excellent communication skills, drawing on these attributes when working with staff and the school community.
The successful applicant will ideally contribute to the design and implementation of documented plans and provide solutions and support to teachers and education assistants, which promote positive student behaviour and improved educational outcomes in the classroom. Ideally, you would be able to perform tasks that require discretion in problem solving, decision making and choosing methods and processes to achieve outcomes. Ideally, the successful applicant would have strong experience in timetabling and the provision of professional learning for education assistants. Experience in the provision of student intervention approaches is also highly desirable.
Experience in supporting students with a range of learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Dyslexia and other imputed conditions that influence student progress and achievement is highly advantageous.

- Demonstrated considerable knowledge and understanding of the delivery of education programs and/or behaviour management plans; and ability to identify problems and assist teachers and other Education Assistants in the development of strategies and solutions.
- Demonstrated well developed oral communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to lead, mentor, coach, induct and train other Education Assistants and professional teams, including providing advice and evaluating education programs.
- Demonstrated well developed written communication skills, including report writing, and the ability to coordinate, collect and present student data at a whole school community level in a meaningful way.
- Demonstrated well developed organisational skills, including the ability to coordinate staff rosters and relief to assist in the delivery of effective education programs
