About You

The diverse learning teacher will be responsible for the support, intervention and administration of students with a learning disability or mental health concern. They will be the first port of call for parents and teachers who raise concerns, issues and information pertaining to these students. They will provide individual, small group and resource development support to ensure that they are accessing the curriculum on the same basis as their peers.

To excel in this role, you will:

  • work closely with students with a diagnosed disability or mental health concern to provide them access to the curriculum on the same basis as their peers.
  • facilitate /provide curriculum resource support materials and information.
  • disseminate information about students' abilities, learning needs on a regular and ongoing basis to subject teachers.
  • communicate and collaborate with parents, students and class teachers for effective differentiation in the classroom for students with additional needs.
  • support class teachers in the implementation of personalised adjustments which target individual student needs.
  • keep up to date with evidence based practices and pedagogical approaches for diverse learners and share this information with other staff.
  • develop plans for effective communication, monitoring, and follow-up of students in inclusive classroom settings.
  • support the inclusive Catholic religious and cultural environment for students.
