Position Information

Condell Park High School is a comprehensive co-educational school located in the Bankstown district of Sydney, with an Inclusive Education Unit of 5 classes, supporting students with Autism. The school serves a culturally and linguistically diverse population of approximately 914 students, representing more than 40 language backgrounds. As a result, 67% of students require support for EAL/D (English as an Additional Language or Dialect). In response to this diversity, the school prides itself on delivering a differentiated and inclusive curriculum that meets the learning needs of all students while fostering a connected community that promotes high aspirations and future-focused opportunities. General Selection Criteria

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy

Specific Selection Criteria

In addition to the general selection criteria,

1. Highly visible and approachable leader demonstrating outstanding interpersonal skills with the experience to lead, inspire and motivate all members of the school community.
2. Capacity to build upon future school focuses, including innovations across the school, and to work in partnership with students, staff and parents to meet varying needs of members of the school community.
3. Demonstrated ability to implement targeted well being initiatives for students with diverse learning needs to promote their social-emotional wellbeing and academic success.
4. Proven capacity to enhance community engagement and inclusivity across the school with the ability to effectively build strong relationships with all stakeholders.
