We are seeking to establish a pool of Cleaners for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. The Role
As a Cleaner at Applecross SHS, your responsibilities will include carrying out internal cleaning duties, including the maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, bathroom cleaning, furniture and fittings, window cleaning, dusting, rubbish removal and other items of general cleaning. In addition to this, you should also perform external cleaning duties, including the cleaning of verandas and covered areas, rubbish removal, cleaning of drinking troughs, removal of cobwebs and other such duties as required by the Cleaner In Charge.
You will also be responsible for reporting all faults, maintenance (including graffiti), incidents and issues to the Cleaner In Charge. Suitable applicants should be individuals who are able to work under minimal supervision and always exhibit professional conduct. You should have pride in your work and assist to keep the school environment clean and safe in accordance with Department procedures. As a cleaner at our school, you should play a vital function in creating and maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic area for our staff, students, and the community to enjoy.
You should have good attention to detail, be organised and have knowledge of cleaning equipment and safe cleaning procedures, methods, and practices. The suitable applicants will ideally be friendly, welcoming, and able to work well both individually and as part of a team to ensure a clean and safe school environment.
