Exmouth District High School (DHS) is seeking to establish a pool of Cleaner for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Exmouth DHS is a proudly Independent Public School with approximately 550 students from Kindergarten to Year 12. We are committed to providing the best possible education for the children of our community and are charged with preparing our students for a diverse range of futures. Successful applicants would join a team of 35 teaching staff and 25 support staff.

Exmouth is a coastal community of situated in the remote northwest of Western Australia. Located about 1250km north of Perth, 850km north of the large regional city of Geraldton and 550km southwest of the Pilbara mining operations in Karratha, we are surrounded by Cape Range National Park and are the gateway to the unique Ningaloo Reef, recently listed as a World Heritage site. There is a permanent population of approximately 3,500 people which swells to thousands more during peak tourist periods. Due to the number of tourists visiting Exmouth the town has many amenities which would not normally be expected in a town of its size.

The Role

To be suitable for this role, you will ideally have a good attention to detail and will be able to work well both individually and as part of a team to ensure a clean and safe school environment. Suitable applicants will ideally be organised, reliable and punctual and have excellent knowledge of cleaning equipment and safe cleaning procedures, methods and practices.

As a Cleaner, you will carry out both internal and external cleaning duties. Internal cleaning includes the maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, cleaning of furniture and fittings, windows, toilets and dusting. External duties include rubbish removal, cleaning of drinking troughs, external windows, verandas and covered areas and cobweb removal. This role is usually worked early morning and/or afternoon.
