About the Role

As a Cleaner at Meridan State College, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure the school operates efficiently and meets high standards of hygiene and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general cleaning duties, including sanitising toilets, sick bays, and high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs and taps.
• Clean and maintain equipment, windows, furniture, and floors (including buffing, stripping, and polishing).
• Manage rubbish disposal, graffiti removal, and cobweb control.
• Maintain outdoor areas, including cleaning paved surfaces and removing debris from drains and gutters.
• Activate and disarm security systems, and lock/unlock buildings as required.
• Liaise with the Principal or Business Manager regarding cleaning supplies and report any safety or security concerns.

Mandatory Requirement:

• A current Working with Children Check clearance (Blue Card) issued by Blue Card Services, in accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000.
