What you'll be doing

As a Child and Family Occupational Therapist, you will provide assessment and therapy interventions for children up to 8 years of age, helping them achieve their developmental potential and improve participation in daily activities.

  • Identify, assess, and treat children with neurological, developmental, or motor difficulties
  • Deliver individual, group, and educational interventions to children, families, and carers
  • Maintain accurate client and program documentation and prepare reports where required
  • Provide guidance and education to parents, preschools, schools, and other agencies
  • Participate in professional development, quality improvement, and clinical research initiatives

Essential Criteria:

  • Registration: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) 
  • Qualifications: Recognised Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy 

Selection Criteria:

  1. Recognised Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia
  3. Demonstrated experience in providing Paediatric Occupational Therapy services.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with families to provide effective intervention for children within a limited session model.
  5. Experience working effectively with families from differing psychosocial, socioeconomic and /or culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
  6. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team within a community setting.
  7. Highly developed and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English.
  8. Demonstrated ability to use a range of computer based applications
