We are seeking to establish a pool of Associate Principals for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

Rockingham SHS, ESC is seeking dynamic and motivated Associate Principal/s to join our executive leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our vision of Building Independent Futures for students with a diverse range of needs.

Working closely with the Principal and members of the Executive Team, the Associate Principal will provide strong educational leadership focused on whole-school improvement, teaching and learning excellence, and the development of a positive, inclusive school culture.

As a member of the Fogarty EDvance Cohort 11 Leadership program, you will play a vital role in shaping sustainable processes and practices that enhance student learning, wellbeing, and engagement across the school. The suitable applicants should display strong interpersonal and communication skills, be proactive in supporting staff and students, and display resilience, innovation, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

A deep understanding of the educational needs of students with disabilities is important, along with knowledge of operational processes such as timetabling, SEN reporting, attendance monitoring, case management, and trauma-informed practices. Experience in implementing effective whole-school approaches including Explicit Instruction, Promoting Literacy Development (PLD) Spelling, supporting curriculum development and behaviour management will be highly regarded.

The suitable applicants would be strategic, collaborative, and committed to fostering a culture that reflects the school’s values of respect, responsibility, resilience, and safety. Eligibility

To work with us, you must:

  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • hold registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia
  • obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
