Applications are invited for the position of Assistant Principal: Students (AP: Students) to join the leadership team at St Patrick's College, Mackay. This full-time position, commencing January 2027, offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the spiritual and educational life of the school community.

Salary: $149,765 to $157,118 (pending experience) + 12.75% superannuation

What we are looking for:

Applications are invited for the position of Assistant Principal: Students (AP: Students) to join the leadership team at St Patrick's College, Mackay.

This full-time position, commencing January 2027, offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the spiritual and educational life of the school community.

The position of Assistant Principal: Students acknowledges the importance of supporting and promoting a contemporary Catholic educational vision with a focus on the student as a learner and person within Catholic schools. The Assistant Principal: Students focuses on providing leadership in assisting the principal to develop and maintain physical and human resources in order to deliver effective education programs within the college according to CEDR policies and practices.

The Assistant Principal: Students acts under the direction of the Principal. As a member of the College Leadership Team, the Assistant Principal is committed to St Patrick's College Mission.

In this leadership position you will exhibit a deep commitment to providing quality Catholic education, participate in the life of the parish, as well as have appropriate teaching experience, academic qualifications and leadership qualities.

  • is a practising Catholic with a sound understanding of, and commitment to Catholic education

  • can foster a culture of inspirational teaching and learning and lead the development and implementation of school improvement initiatives
  • has the interpersonal skills to build partnerships within the school and with the local community
  • is willing to provide leadership in areas delegated by the Principal in the AP Students duty statement, and
  • can lead in ways that are consistent with the message of Jesus and the Gospels
  • Catholic church teachings, principles and values
  • Diocesan policies and directives
  • The Catholic Education Diocese of Rockhampton Charter
  • Catholic Education Mission and Vision Statements, policies, practices and strategic directions.

It enjoys a rich history built on the Sisters of Mercy and Christian Brothers, St Patrick’s College is a co-education Catholic College with a combined current enrolment of approximately 1500 students. St Patrick’s College offers a unique experience for students, consisting of a dual campus concept catering exclusively for Years 7 to 10 at the Mercy Campus and Years 11 to 12 at the Senior Campus. Mandatory Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and the ability to obtain approved Queensland College of Teachers Registration
