  • Principal location – Sydney
  • Employment type – Temporary (6 Months) – Full time
  • Salary – Clerk Grade 7/8, Base Salary ($113,574 – $125,720), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

At the Legal Profession Admission Board NSW, you will play a key role in delivering high quality student services and ensuring the smooth operation of our Diploma in Law Course. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee enrolment and examination processes, provide expert guidance to students, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the student experience.

What you’ll do

As part of the Student Services team, you will coordinate complex operational tasks relating to student registration, enrolment, examinations, and graduations. You will manage projects to enhance systems, procedures, and communications, ensuring compliance with course rules and policies.

You will also:
  • Provide expert advice to students and colleagues on complex matters relating to the Diploma in Law Course.
  • Assist in preparing briefing materials for the Board Committee overseeing the Course.
  • Supervise and coordinate casual or temporary staff during peak periods, such as examination sessions.
  • Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of systems, procedures, and policies to improve student services.
  • Support coaching and training of ongoing team members.
  • Prepare and update communications materials to raise student understanding of Course rules and procedures.
  • Assess complex student applications in accordance with Course rules, delegations, and guidelines.
  • Work as part of a collaborative, student focused team that values professionalism, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

What we’re looking for

  • Demonstrated ability to manage student services and operational activities, and to implement process improvements that enhance quality and efficiency
  • Proven capability to interpret and apply legislation, rules, policies, and procedures in complex and novel circumstances
  • Strong written communication skills, including preparation and review of public-facing materials and correspondence
  • Experience in managing examinations, enrolments, or equivalent operational processes in a higher education or professional program environment

Appointments are subject to reference checks. Some roles may also require the following checks/ clearances:

  • National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
  • Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012

Please Note:

  1. On admission days and during examination periods, staff will be required to start early and finish late as necessary to meet the operational needs of the organisation.
  2. Students-at-law of the Board’s course are not eligible for employment in the office of the LPAB.
