Explorer William Landsborough was one of the first to recognise the potential wealth and diversity of opportunity within the Paroo Shire when he passed through the area in 1862. On rich plains and river flats, the region was founded to have the ideal grazing lands for sheep and cattle. These industries have played a pivotal role in our history and growth through time to make the region a rural centre for today.
